S4653....+S2599
This is what I wore on Monday...., and I was feeling kinda cool in this color...lol. The top as already been reviewed, and the skirt is a piece of cake, I can't remember how or when I got the pattern, but it's been in my stash forever , I guess is now OOP. I barely have enough fabric for the skirt , I lined it with a tricot knit, used non roll elastic for the waist, put 1/2" interface to stabilise the hem and .....viola, Did I mention how much I love this skirt???.......Super comfy

Vogue 8581
This's one of Vogues' very easy pattern... Nothing complicated at all. I just wanted to make something quick and V8581 called my attention.
Fabric: Some kind of knit from either Walmart or Fabricland, has been in my stash for sometime
Pattern Description: Tunics A, B, C have front and back upper gathers, neck binding, lower elastic casing and raglan sleeve variations. A: sleeves with elastic casing. B: three-quarter length flared sleeves. C: gathered sleeves and sleeve binding. I made view C
Pattern Sizing: B5 , size 8-16. Cut my regular 14
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?: Pretty much
Were the instructions easy to follow: I didn't follow the instruction . These are what I did differently, based on Sharon's review
(1) I sewed the back, front and sleeves together and then pull for gathering
(2) I folded the neck facing into 2 sewed it in and serged the seam allowance together...Viola very simple
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: I raised the neck by 1" by popular review and lengthened by another 1"...
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Nothing to dislike
Conclusion: Easy patten, and a few hour project.. Not sure if I will be making it again but highly recommend.
This will get a lot of wear in the winter because is hot around here now however I wore it on Wednesday when the temperature was a bit low and really loved it.

Another Simple Top S2554
Another easy and quick one I made last Thursday, The fabric is a bit stretchy not sure of the fiber content but it's some kind of knit, very soft and lovey but I have just enough to make this top. Also have made the view F of this pattern before and love everything about the pattern, so this is just another quick top for me, I used the serger blade to finish the ruffle by removing the serger threads so that the cut can be even. These are all mojo booster, have got lots to sew but I have to start from somewhere ..... right?...wink.
So here is another one of those.

Here is my finished project. I bound the armhole with a bias tape as I usually do with most of my shirts

March Challenge #8...........Butterick 5284
One more to go and am done......This has been a great challenge so far and I am honestly enjoying every aspect of it.... To complete the 3 shirts as stated in the side bar, I made this lovely ruffle butterick 5284 shirt. For unknown reason I spent so much time on this project than expected, it was so dragging and I was lazy to finish it. I started on Friday evening and was so busy with kid activities on Saturday and when I had time later that day I just didn't feel like sewing,, same story on Sunday, but later that evening around 10pm I started working on it again and was so determined to finish it, eventually it was done at 1(one) am this morning...sigh, and it was like a 50pd weight off my shoulder....lol... The review goes
Fabric: 100% cotton shirting fabric from fabricland
Pattern Description: Shirts A, B, C, D have front band, collar, collar band and sleeve variations. A: self-double ruffles and cuff with slit. B: flounce, front and back darts. B, C, D: gathered sleeves with continuous lap and cuff. C: front panel with tucks. D: front and back
darts, ribbon sash
Pattern Sizing: 8 - 22. I cut the 14 and graded up to a 16 from the waist to the hem
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?: Yes Were the instructions easy to follow: Very easy, I followed it throughout because I wasn't just in the mood to use another technique , great instruction and easy to followPattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
(1) I lenghtened by 2"
(2) I sewed in french seam throughout even for the armhole
(3) I shortened the collar and collar band width by 0.5"
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? Nothing to dislike I love the ruffle and the shirt variations
Would you recommend it to other? Absolutely, it's a great wardrobe builder and the details are exquisite
Conclusion: Great shirt, am looking at the views C and D but not sure when I will be making them.
CAN YOU SPOT A MISTAKE? ...Look again at the sleeve cuffs...ahahah..lol. I will fix that later
Ok gotta go now....lol. I will start the last project tomorrow and hopefully finish and post before midnight Wednesday....

March Challenge (#2).........
Yes another shirt for the office, I am really rocking this pattern lol. This time I made view D in a light weight broadcloth. I have one more to go , but not sure if I will make the last one with this pattern...... who knows.....
I bought this fabric because of the colour which I really love .....
I stabilized/finished the shoulder seam with seam binding because of the weight of the fabric and as usual, I bond the armhole.
So here it is......... yet to do the buttonholes & buttons

March Challenge (#1).........Mccall's 6035
As per my earlier post, I am now working on my March challenge. I am planning on making about 10 garments this month... So here is the first, I used my wearable muslin to make this shirt in another beautiful checks fabric.
Remember I said I didn't make any alteration on the muslin, but with this version I made a few, and here they are:
(1) I reduced the sleeve cuff by 1"
(2) Removed 0.5" for the neck band
(3) Removed 0.5" from the collar
(4)Bond the armhole with bias tape
Alterations (2, 3) were necessary because when I measured the collar on one of my RTWs, the band was 1" and the collar was 1.5" but this pattern had excess. I am so glad I reduced the collar, I wouldn't have liked it. On my next pair I am going to remove another 0.5" from the collar. Overall, I love this shirt, great wardrobe builder but I am so much in love with the colour, a stretch cotton fabric I got from Fabric land.
Needs real pressing
Close-up
Arm-hole finishing

Wearable Muslin....Mccall's 6035
One of McCall’s newest patterns (M6035) I guess..... It' s so easy and fits right out of the envelop....Yes no alteration at all, I lengthened it by just 1" because I wasn't sure of the length but, I actually I don't need the extra length. It has different cup sizes so I made a C cup and no FBA
Fabric: One of those Wal-Mart cotton linen fabric, I bought it for making muslin, but it's definitely a keeper...
Pattern Description: MISSES' SHIRTS: Shirts A, B, C, D have princess seams and button closure; dress A has collar band and short sleeves with cuffs; dresses B, C, D have collar, collar band and below elbow length sleeves; dress B has sleeves with cuffs; dress C has sleeves with turn back cuffs with tabs; dress D has sleeves with drawstrings; separate pattern pieces provided for A/B, C, D cup sizes.
.
Pattern Sizing: E5 (14-22) I cut size 14, view A
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Absolutely
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: Except for 1" length I added
Would you recommend it to others? Yes, great for office and casual .....
Were the instructions easy to follow: I followed them to the letter, super easy to follow...
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love everything most especially that I didn't have to do any alteration, and the princess cut.......
Conclusion: I love it, I am making views C and D in another fabric and a great wardrobe builder...

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
(1)I lengthned the bodice by 1"
(2)I used contrasting neck facing
(3)Bond the hem by lite steam-a-seam and coverstiched it...

McCall's 2255 Skirt + New Look 6901
Nothing much just a quick one.......I wanted to make something quick and easy so I went for these two patterns which have been in my stash for sometime now. I cut the skirt using M2255 view B and made the top from Newlook 6901 view A. I lengthened the skirt by 2" and the top by 1". This is a combo for casual Friday, or on a weekend .
I used a polyester satin fabric for the skirt ...I love the feel of this fabric, it 's so soft, I lined it with the same knit used for the top, so it's a bit warm in there and very compy.
I roll hemmed the skirt hem and serged the entire top and roll hemmed the sleeve and the hem of the top....From start to finish both took about 2hrs.
I have always loved long skirt and I hardly find something long enough for me in RTW...so this' s a wardrobe booster.......

Butterick 5260......Fast and Easy
Yes another butterick pattern.... guess I am falling in love with the B patterns..... The pattern says it all Fast and Easy...... but they forgot to add Comfy..... B5260.
Here is my review
Here is my review
The back
The fun part... I love the neck
How I raised the neck by 1"
Fabric: Moderately stretched fabric.
Pattern Description: A-line, pull over tunics A, C or above mid-knee dress.
Pattern Sizing: Lrg- Xlg-XxL... I cut large and reduced it to medium because I didn`t see medium size when I wanted to buy this pattern.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Absolutely.
Were the instructions easy to follow: Super easy, I glanced through it once and violaaaa...
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: As usual, I love my girls to be at their rightful places, so........
I raised the neck by 1"I lengthened the sleeve and bodice by 2"
I removed about 2" at the bust areas because I didn`t want to do the gathering, I just wanted the neck to lie flat on my chest........ Do I love this little alteration? Absolutely
I also graded up from medium to large at the hip
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the neck and the A-line style of the pattern... Nothing to dislike at all.
Would you recommend it to others? Yes, but I think this pattern will work nicely with moderately stretched knit
Conclusion: I am loving it..... This is one fast pattern to try if you want to jump start your mojo, instant gratification. It took me less than 3 hour from start to finish, including the alteration, the sewing, the serging and the finishing................super easy
