I have been making more dresses more than usual these days ,unfortunately not for me but for my peeps. I am sincerely enjoying every bit of it though. Before now, I have been thinking about how to improve my sewing skills by sewing for others but I now realise the technique/prosess is basically the same either sewing for me or others but the major difference is the body type. I have learned to appreciate the work of God more by measuring people of different shapes and sizes. Some of us have longer turso, shorter limb , one arm shorter than the other or one side of the body longer than the other without us even realising it. We look perfect everytime we look at ourselves in the mirror and nobody can even tell or notice..... Then this made me thinking ....Why do we look for 100% perfection in everything we do when we are not even physically perfect?.....Indeed only God is perfect.... ...
Please enjoy my recent ones.
I used S2989 , made size 8 and lengthened by 3" for my little girl. Very great pattern. Highly recommend
Self-drafted pattern, the customer brough a knit top and asked if I could make the top of the dress look like it, so I did.... the skirt part was so easy to draft, I copied the top, made 2 muslins and viola , with side zipper, shirring sleeve , 2 front darts and sash...She was so happy with the outcome and I was too... see more pics below
I used NL6864 and modified the sleeve to form cap sleeve, fits right out of the envelop, cut size 16 and graded to 18 for the client, I also added 2" to the midriff..Another great patten
Now I have to start planning my fall wardrobe....I basically have nothing to wear................lol.
Have a nice weekend everyone..... Be back with more later
