Simplicity 2054 - A Cynthia Rowley Dress

I am loving Cynthia's patterns lately they are flattering, simple and easy to make. Here is my most recent of her patterns The  S2054 took less than 3 hours to cut and sew, I love the simple cut-out detail and how flattering the pattern is.

 My Review:
Fabric: Some kind of moderate stretch Ponte knit
Pattern Description: Misses knit dress and cowl collar
Pattern Sizing: Size 14 to 22. I cut 14 bodice and graded up to 16 from waist down
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?: Pretty much but without the belt
Were the instructions easy to follow: Read once to check how to sew the cut-out, it's so easy to follow
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: This dress is super short, I lengthened the bodice and sleeves by 3 " and I still had to reduce the dress hem to 1/4" instead of 1-1/4" recommended, that's a total length of 4" to be just above my knee.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the cut-out at the elbow, plus  the simple but flattering style
Would you recommend it to others? If you love this style go for it, you can't be wrong with a three piece pattern
Conclusion: I love my fabric choice it's so comfy and warm, I wore to work on Monday and it kept me warm all day with our -16 celsius weather. The total sewing and cutting time was also less than 3 hours so it's a win pattern in my book.

  1. Aminat, this dress is so cute on you! Your color choice is great, too. I have always loved this pattern especially the slit in the sleeve area. Thanks for the tip about the length! I think I will make this up because I'm certain that there are at least two of these patterns somewhere in my mess of a stash, smh!

    Great Job, two thumbs up!!!!!

Okay, are you super tall? I am 5'5" and cut almost 3" off! LOL! But knowing mine would become a mini.
