McCall's 2255 Skirt + New Look 6901

Nothing much just a quick one.......I  wanted to make something quick and easy so I went for these two patterns which have been in my stash for sometime now. I cut the skirt  using M2255 view B and  made the top from Newlook 6901 view A. I lengthened the skirt by 2" and the top by 1". This is a combo for casual Friday, or on a weekend .

I used  a polyester satin fabric for the skirt ...I love the feel of this fabric, it 's so soft, I lined it with the same knit used for the top, so it's a bit warm in there and very compy.
I roll hemmed the skirt hem and serged the entire top and roll hemmed the sleeve and the hem of the top....From start to finish both took about 2hrs.

I  have always loved long skirt and I hardly find something long enough for me  in RTW...so this' s a wardrobe booster.......
Happy sewing

  3. I love your skirt. The print reminds me of a dark, stary night. I see you live in a cold, cold region. Brrrr! I live on an island in Michigan, and we're experiencing some very frigid temps also. I call it the "frozen tundra".

  4. Nice combination. I like the cowl on the top especially. I too like long skirts. Wow, I haven't worn a skirt in such a long time...
